Who: “Bar chef”, Albert Trummer has invited LUCKYRICE into his lab at Sanatorium for an after hours celebration. If you haven’t “gotten lucky” yet, here’s your chance. An American citizen of 5 years, Trummer knows Austria to be home and has always had an affinity for the bar. After attending culinary school in Austria he realized that being a chef was “too quiet for my personality,” and would go onto work abroad in high-end hotel bars everywhere from Switzerland to the Philippines. He arrived in New York in the 1990s and is best known for his stint at Apothéke where his flame-loving gusto got him into some trouble (the guy has lit entire bar on fire). That being said, “no one I have met has the taste levels of Albert Trummer — how to build a drink. He has a glossary of alcohols in his head, he knows each one like a chef does,” said Geoffrey Zakarian, the iron chef restaurateur.
What: The after-party will be held post NY Feast, keeping the party going all night long with an open bar of sponsored spirits from 10:30 to 12:30. Trummer is known to be drawn to theatrics so we’ll travel from Shanghai of the 1960s to a world where mixologists have got the cure for just about anything. Bubble__T, a progressive Brooklyn party collective will supply the music, the beats and that Friday feeling.
Where: Sanatorium, 14 Avenue C
With a retro feel, chandeliers, Habsburg spa like vibes and the added element of being in the hospital of your dreams complete with syringes and an x-ray lightbox, Trummer likes to think of his new concept as “mental healing with alcohol.” Elixirs are made in house with fresh ingredients and quality booze.
